Antwerpen

I had the pleasure to experience this beautiful town for a day. My partner Angie had a work trip and I tagged along from Germany. According to my apple watch, I walked 28,000 steps this day. It was a cloudy and gloomy day but I was determined to make some beautiful images. It was a beautiful experience trying to find some of these images. They took a lot of work and patience and a lot of luck.

You never know when a moment will happen or where your subject may appear from but you just have to be ready. Each photo with a person in it has a story in which only the photographer knows. For example, the girl in the glass window was drawing on the fog she made with her breath on the window. I was panicking seeing this doll-like figure in front of me and my camera just died before I could take the shot. Fiddling with my battery and a little panicked I was praying the bus wouldn’t leave. I managed to finally get the batteries changed and the shot and that was it. The bus started up and left.

The lady with the blue umbrella. This shot took no more than five seconds. I was wandering around the train station and as soon as I saw her I went in as quickly as I could. She had her head down and as soon as she raised it I hit the shutter. As soon as that happened she was gone all within five seconds.

The story continues with all these shots. Like the old couple on the escalators that couldn’t keep their hands off each other like high school sweethearts who just fell in love. They were constantly flirting with each other all over the MAS museum.

I absolutely love street photography and can’t wait to wander and get lost out in the world again. Trying to find more images that connect with people and inspire. I truly love it.

For people interested in visiting Antwerpen, I was also fortunate enough to go on the last Wednesday of the month. All the museums were free to visit such as the MAS and Rubenshuis. I was blown away by how talented painters were in the past and still are. What I do with a camera is nothing compared to these artists.

Please enjoy some more photos here from earlier travels to Asia. ( Asia Trip Photos ) I didn’t shoot as much as I would have liked but instead enjoyed my time with friends and my girlfriend Angie. I feel in the future I will take more trips specifically to shoot like this.

Enjoy these and comment if you like them!
