Shaminder + Jasmin Banff Engagement Shoot
I had a great opportunity to photograph 3 awesome engagement shoots in Banff this past March and each one was beautiful. I tried my best to give everyone something unique and different and these photos are totally that.
Photographing Shaminder and Jasmin was so much fun. They are deeply in love and you can see how relaxed they are with one another just having fun. It was after all such a fun adventure we were all on. They drove in from Edmonton early to get makeup done in Calgary and met me at noon in Banff. I was already warmed up and familiar with all the areas after hiking them all the days before when I arrived so they just had to follow my lead.
I love Banff and the surrounding area, it was so refreshing to get away from the prairies and to capture beautiful landscapes for my couples. Whom we’re all having Winnipeg weddings and were thrilled to be getting photos that were going to be different.
So when I reached out to all my clients about a Banff engagement shoot they were super excited. Visualizing beautiful landscape shots for their walls, it was really a no brainer.
March isn’t the most appealing weather for Banff but it was perfect for us. With no crowds and sometimes no people at all it was perfect for my clients to just feel at ease with one another and not uncomfortable in front of dozens of onlookers. During the long weekend there was at least 50-70 people at every location. With that said, hardly a soul in sight during the week in March.

Shaminder and Jasmine had the classic Bollywood shoot you can dream of. If you grew up in a Indian household you would understand. Dancing scenes in the mountains in all those Hindi movies, singing in love. That’s what all of this reminded me of but somehow different. This was real life and these people were really in love and you can feel it. I know they will be proud to display these photos in their homes and look back on them with their children one day. Whom will have a great image is in their heads and hearts of what love is and how in love their parents were and are with one another. I think everyone deserves that. Can you imagine waking up or coming home from the office and seeing these on your walls. It would bring a smile to your face everyday.
I hope you enjoy these as much as we had fun hiking around making them : )
