Elopement Photographer

( Edited 2020 ) Like many wedding photographers this year, I’m turning into an elopement photographer. With all the cancellations of large parties and gatherings more couples are eloping. Reflecting back on this shoot now a year later I never thought we would be in this situation but here we are.

Andrea and Gustav are from Stockholm Sweden and we met on the way from the Gili Islands to Ubud. They’re very inspiring and beautiful people, to say the least. Passionate about healthy living, animal cruelty, climate change and so much more.  Barely 23 Andrea is a social media influencer and fashion designer ( video ) who with Gustav have their own fitness training company. Over smoothy bowls and some awesome vegetarian food, they shared their big dreams with me.

We woke up real early and hopped onto our scooters in search of waterfalls. As we drove through the rice fields in search of these beautiful waterfalls I couldn’t help but wonder if being an elopement photographer would be realistic for me. I mean maybe if I was located in these locations it would be easier but from Winnipeg, who knows? Maybe This could be the normal, what a dream that would be.

Bali Elopement 

When we pulled up to the waterfall it was scorching hot. So we looked for any shade to walk under or rest just to get away from the heat. We went down the some paths and rocks and finally found our little gem in the jungle. The shoot didn’t take much time, they just enjoyed themselves there and I clicked away. We also explored a little market and a rice patty field together.

After spending a few days together eating at all the amazing places in Ubud and exploring we went our separate ways. It’s amazing how you can make friends for life in such a short amount of time. I look forward to making my way up to Sweden maybe next year where we can catch up and I could take part in their boot camp.
