This was a huge 700 guest wedding reception at the RBC Convention Centre. Navi and Varinder’s wedding happened a day prior to this an if you would like to see the ceremony you can start there first.
The long week before us was incredible and now the wedding reception party was going to get started. The RBC Convention Centre was one of the only places big enough to have this reception. The wedding event was completely transformed by Events by Emma and her team who did an outstanding job. She’s done a lot of big Indian weddings in Winnipeg and you can check out another one here.

Before the wedding reception started we had a few minutes to take some photos inside the venue with the couple. Every candle was lit just for them to enjoy it for the first time and take some photos. Seeing the reception decorated and complete is a huge moment for the couple when they first walk in. Taking photos with there decorations is great opportunity to get some more photos of themselves.
The first dance was really beautiful as well. The sound and lighting team had fireworks set up for their first dance and some beautiful back lighting which gave it a cool effect. With some spins, dips and twirls the crowd of 700 was all focused on those two.
Varinder and Navi have big families with siblings and the speeches were emotional, full of love and laughter. We tried to focus on the families reactions along with Navi and Varinder. As you can see we definitely got some great emotion from them.

We shoot a lot at RBC Convention Centre but not all are huge parties like this one. It felt like I was at a concert or Dj party. Once the speeches were over we had some dance competitions between families and even Navi and Varinder. Guests were jumping up and down with glow sticks and even after the party was over they kept it going with the Dhol ( drum ).

Dj Super Singh had the party going and AK Productions provided all the sound, cool lighting and effects for this Wedding Reception.

This shot below is a perfect example of us using the wedding reception as a photoshoot location before the event. We had 15 minutes to make some cool shots and ended up with some variety.
