This Met Indian wedding couple had their ceremony at the Sikh Society of Manitoba. The Reception was at The Metropolitan and it took place on the hottest day of the year. Â I can’t imagine how Monty and Sumeeta felt in their traditional clothing because I was melting in normal clothes. I’m sure Sumeeta’s dress weighed at least 50 pounds but we were prepared with water and umbrellas to beat the heat.
This was a traditional Sikh wedding with Mendhi and Jaggo nights. They danced and partied all night long. Monty’s cousin Suneet and his brother Abster were the life of the party. Abster was picking people up and putting them on his shoulders basically all night long.. Also thanks to Dilpreet they got a beer pong game going during The Met Indian Wedding. When does that ever happen?
The Met Indian Wedding
People flew through speeches, first dance, and cake cutting just so they can open the bar and get the party started. I remember looking at my watch thinking it was at least 11 pm when in fact it was only 9 pm. It felt like they were partying for hours already, which they were.
For their creative portraits, Birdshill Park was their choice and they didn’t care about the heat. We packed a cooler full of waters and didn’t think twice about it. The temperatures were plus 36 and in those gowns, I can’t imagine, probably plus 40-50. But in the end, we were thrilled with the photos we made there.
Monty and Sumeeta are super fun and very sweet individuals. They always made sure I had everything I needed and didn’t spend more time and any extra energy then I needed to. We’ve already hung out after the wedding once and I look forward to seeing them more in the future and watching them grow together even more.
Enjoy some of their highlights
Here’s another awesome wedding. Next Wedding
