Wedding Day Part 2 – Sumeet & Serena

Here is the start of the wedding day broken into 2 blog posts. If you haven’t please check out Part 1 here. This post will focus mainly on the ceremony whereas the second wedding day post will be the Doli ( where the bride leaves her home ) and the portraits. Also last but not least, the arrival of Serena at the grooms home where he proudly carries her in and they end up playing some fun traditional games together with the family. The wedding day was a heavy day full of tons of emotions. Sumeet’s father has passed away and he told me after the wedding that he was thinking of him often throughout the day wishing that he was here. With that said they celebrated with pure joy and excitement as well. You can really see how much these two love each other and how proud the families are.

Arriving at the ceremony Sumeet’s family danced with enthusiasm and excitement to the sound of the doll  ( drum ) as Sumeet pulled up in a classic 911 porsche turbo. Right after Sumeet got out they continued dancing until entering the Gurdwara. There was no Milni ( introduction of the families ) due to covid restrictions and safety.

Wedding Day

The wedding day ceremony took place in a beautiful bright gurdwara in East Kildonan called Guru Nanak Darbar. It’s full of lots of light and it was my first time actually photographing a wedding at this location. With that said it was a beautiful ceremony with lots of smiles from Sumeet + Serena, you could tell they were enjoying every minute of it.

Wedding Day

After the ceremony, they went to Serena’s home where they continued with some traditions which are in the next blog post.

Enjoy these highlights and a link to Part 3 will be here shortly.
